On and off the Wagon

I may have mentioned once or twice that I am very, very overweight.

My body looks like this:

Years ago on Oprah I heard the expression, "you eat your pain".  That describes me very well.

I get motivated for months and eat correctly and then I fall off the wagon again and again.

I am getting back on the wagon.

I am taking jogs everyday with Michael.  He is great he motivates me so well.  We jog to a nearby park that is surrounded by a circular road.   It is a very short distance but I could never get around the park without stopping.  Yesterday I managed to jog around the entire circumference without stopping.  YEAH ME!

My previous jogs with Jess helped she told me not to pant.  If she pants when she runs at school she gets told to do an extra lap.

I am working on my breathing and that is the key.  Taking deep rhythmic breaths while I am jogging and making sure that I don't start panting.  My legs do feel like lead after a jogging session but the feeling of accomplishment is great.

Next aim is to be able to jog from home to the park around and back home again non stop.

I do The Little Engine that could, in my head, "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can."

  1. It's amazing that once you put the effort in, the feel good factor afterwards is worth it. But getting up to do that thing that makes you feel good is really hard, once you are not doing it!! Does that make sense?
